- About La Vida AlohaLa Vida Aloha Swimwear was started in 2005 by designer Lennie Collins. Born with a passion for sewing, fashion design, and all things related to the ocean, Lennie grew up in the small oceanside community of Carlsbad, California. Lennie re-located to the beautiful Hawaiian island of Kauai, in 1973. Lennie’s passion for swimwear and fashion soon blossomed into a successful small business making custom swimwear, including her stunning bikinis, for both fashion models and surfer girls alike. Lennie likes to design her custom swimwear out of sustainable textiles. Among her favorite swimwear materials are hemp/organic cotton/lycra blends. All of La Vida Aloha’s swimwear is designed and made by hand in her studio on the lush Hawaiian Island of Kauai.
